Crispy Honey Chilli Potato Recipe


Honey Chilli Potatoes are fried potato fingers in the Indian Chinese style, coated with a sweet and spicy sauce. It's one of those potato treats that you can keep digging into for hours without realising you've consumed a whole plate. Because it is crunchy, sweet, and spicy, it is a tremendous hit with both youngsters and adults.

My first encounter with honey chilli potatoes was at a nearby Indian-Chinese restaurant. It was one of my favourite potato treats as a youngster.

Crispy honey chilli potato is constantly in demand in India, where there are so many vegetarian cuisine aficionados. Reason? For starters, we adore potatoes. Second, popular Indian-Chinese sauces are drizzled over the crispy potatoes.

In this honey chilli potato dish, we'll show you how to meet all of these criteria while also creating something very delicious.

Crispy and Crunchy Potato Fingers

Wash the potatoes, peel them, and cut them into strips or wedges.

Soak these potato fingers in cold water for a few minutes to help remove the starch, then wipe dry with a towel (refer to recipe video). After that, parboil the potatoes until they are al dente in salted water (almost cooked).

Start frying the potato fingers after coating them in a flour mixture.

The honey chilli potato is recognised for its coveted crispness, which is achieved by a cooking process termed as double-frying. The crunchiness of double-fried foods lasts even after glazing with sauce, which is not the case with ordinary deep-frying.

Golden Honey Glaze

I can't decide whether the crispy potatoes or the glaze are the greatest part of this meal, but be assured that when they're served together, they're a marriage made in heaven.

Honey, red chilli paste, ketchup, and garlic, among other aromatics, are the major components for the sauce. Alternatively, you may cover the crispy fried potatoes with the chilli sauce from my crispy chilli baby corn glaze recipe.

Spring onion leaves, a generous sprinkle of honey, and sesame seeds finish the honey chilli potato. And the greatest potato snacks are ready to be eaten!
